Derrick from Ghana

Derrick is a little boy from rural Ghana who was born with radial club hands. He was introduced to us and we transported him to the Mercy Ship in Benin where Dr Tertius Venter performed successful surgery on his hands and arms in January. He is now back home with both arms splinted perhaps for at least the next year. We have arranged for him to have physiotherapy in Ho, Ghana each week so he has the best chance of recovery. This is expensive as it involves private physio, transport and food/accomodation for him and his mum. If you are able to contribute something towards this cost please donate via this website – thank you. Here are some photos of Derrick immediately after his op and now with his splints. We thank God we have been able to play a small part in improving this little boy’s life.
